I am so excited that all of my hard work has finally come together. I had this vision of what I wanted my sons room to look like and I had a hard time explaining it. I am a very visual person and I do a lot better job showing you things rather than explaining things. My husband and I worked very hard on River’s nursery and I wanted his nursery to be perfect. This is my first child and I know with the second I will probably not do half of what I have done for this one, but it was so much fun getting to watch my vision pan out. First, we had carpet in this room and we had hard woods put down in every room in the house to match the rest of the hard woods. Second, I did the trim in the room and my amazing sister came in the next day and helped me paint the room. Third, I replaced all the wall plugs with wood plugs to paint and match to the trim. Then, we put the chandelier in and replaced the old light fixture. Fourth, we got the baby bed put together and then my decorating went under way. I started crafting and making all kinds of things. I refinished my sister’s changing table that she had with my niece Ava who is now 7 and she also used this changing table with my nephew Rhett who is now 8 months old. The white dresser you see was my mother-in-laws it is very special and is a true antique. I had it refinished professionally by Dejavue on 280 they are amazing and do such wonderful work if you ever want something refinished. The lamp you see by the window is a Peter’s lamp. This is a significant piece in the nursery because my husband is from Mississippi where you will find McCarty and Peter’s pottery. His entire family collects these pieces and they are so beautiful and made out of real Mississippi mud. We have inherited a great deal of these pieces from my mother-in-law and we use them for get togethers and showers all the time. You will see them at River’s shower this coming Sunday. Another significant piece you will see is the chair in the left corner. This is a Donghia chair that belonged to my mother-in-law she used to love sitting in this chair and reading books. I know if she was still here with us she would sit in that chair for hours and hold River, read to him, and love on him. She is looking down and smiling on us right now! I will further explain things in the room as we go along, and I will post before and after pictures! Enjoy!!!!

I loved this verse when my oldest friend Brittanni Brown told me it would be perfect for River’s nursery I had to use it.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
These old books belonged to River’s grandmother Donna Clark. The top book with the pop up I made is from Dejavue thank you Amy for giving me this book!
The blocks were made by Karen Tubbs they do amazing work and have tons of beautiful refinished items at the Powder Box in Sylacauga, AL!
I purchased the letters from Hobby Lobby and refinished them. The D and G are wood picture frames that I refinished with burlap wrapped around the center.
The shoes belonged to my nephew Rhett Owen Watson who is River’s future best bud. The bible was Clark’s first bible. The picture frame was a gift from my sister at my reveal shower! I plan to put a maternity photo in it.
My baby bedding was custom made by Becker’s Bedding. She has a booth at Homewood Antiques in Homewood, AL. She is amazing and she listened to every detail and put my idea to real life. The bedding is absolutely perfect!
The book is a scrapbook I have been working on throughout my pregnancy. It is a work in progress. It has how we revealed being pregnant. About what mommy has been doing while she has been pregnant. The trips and vacations we have been on. Running the half marathon with him at 21 weeks. My weekly pregnancy photos. The room as it has been worked on. There is space in there for the shower and space for the delivery. The camera is a significance of what mommy loves to do (photographer) and the car is a significance of what daddy loves to do (racing dirt track)!
This adorable little lamb was a gift from River’s grandmother’s best friend Kim Comer. She gave us this at the gender reveal party. She has been amazing to Clark and I even though my mother-in-law is no longer with us Kim has remained in our lives and we love her very much!
The chandelier I purchased from World Market. The R I purchased from Anthropologie. The outfit was Rhett’s, but I plan to put one of Clark’s old outfits there once I get them from Granny Clark! The picture frame Clark and I made from crown molding!
The sheep rocker I purchased from Pottery Barn Kids. I had to track this thing down because they are no longer making it!
These I worked very hard on and I did NB, 0-3 Months, 3-6 Months, 6-9 Months, 9-12 Months, 12-18 Months!
