Ashley & Jeff Happily Married | The Michael Wedding Barn | Anniston, AL

Ashley and Jeff were married on June 1, 2013 at The Michael Wedding Barn in Anniston, AL.  This venue was absolutely gorgeous even in the pouring rain and thunder storms.  The day started out with pretty weather and continued on to thunderstorms and rain.  This was an outdoor wedding, but this didn’t stop Ashley and Jeff from getting married and still having an absolutely gorgeous ceremony and reception.  As we headed down to do the first look we noticed the dark clouds starting to move in.  What are the chances we complete the first look and send them back in doors and by the time they get back inside the bottom falls out (perfect timing).  We fought the rain all day, but we worked around it and got the shots.  It was such a beautiful wedding and Ashley made such a gorgeous bride.  The entire wedding party was awesome to they were such troopers considering we were tromping around in mud and wet grass trying to get the shots, but they never once complained.  I can’t say enough about how awesome Ashley was and how calm and collect she was about the entire situation with the weather.  She was a dream to work with and I am so glad we got to photograph her big day.  On another note a thunderstorm hit right about 5:30 and the ceremony was to start at 6:00.  A huge flash of lightning came and it hit a power-line and snapped it in half.  The shock traveled down the line and hit a transformer box that was right in front of my car and set of my car alarm.  My car was the only alarm that went off out of all the cars in the parking lot (that should have made me think, but it didn’t).  Then, we had a power outage in the reception area, so they had to run and get a generator to run the lights in the reception area.  Everything ended up being beautiful and the food was delicious catered by Kenny Bogan with Whiskers.  We finished up our job and Brooke and I were so tired after an 8 hour day and went to crank my car…………IT WOULDN’T START.  Well, it would start, but it sounded awful the starter was stuck and the computer system was shot from the lighting earlier in the day.  We had to wait on Brooke’s mom to come and get us because she was the only person that knew how to get to the venue.  Needless to say we were extremely tired by the time we got home that night.  HOWEVER, now that I have finished rambling on about the event you will see why I say it was totally worth it to fight the rain and storm because the wedding photos are gorgeous.  Thank you again for letting us be a part of your big day and hope you enjoy!!!!

Andy Prince - I was referred to you by Dennis Twigg. My future bride and I are looking to have a country wedding near our home in Jacksonville. I will tell you, we’ve looked at Southwind Plantation…it is beautiful and has a great story, but is too pricey for our budget! We will be doing all of this on our on!
